Content contributors terms of use

These terms no longer apply. As of 31 Jan 2012 these terms were replaced by the Metadata Contributor Terms .

Contributors of content to this website must ensure that they have the requisite authority to grant a licence to the National Library to harvest, copy, host and store all or part of their metadata on the National Library’s computer systems and provide access to their images through this website.

You may only submit content to this website (“Content”) to this website in which you hold the rights to copy, publish and make available electronically. By submitting any Content to this website you represent and warrant that:

• you own the relevant copyright in the Content, or have the rights to administer the Content, and have the right to use any trade marks incorporated in it;
• the uploading, downloading, copying and use of the Content will not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party;
• you have fully complied with any third-party licenses relating to the Content;
• the Content does not contain or install any viruses, worms, malware, Trojan horses or other harmful or destructive content; and
• the Content is not obscene or defamatory and does not violate the privacy of any third party;

The National Library will provide clear attribution details of your Content on a contributors page. The National Library will remove selected Content from this website at your request.

You agree to indemnify the National Library from all or any liability, loss, damages, costs or expenses arising directly or indirectly from legal proceedings, or the threat of legal proceedings, claiming that Content, the uploading of Content to this website or the availability of Content on this website infringes the intellectual property rights of third parties.

The National Library will not screen or vet the Content made or stored on this website. You agree that the National Library may suspend, terminate or filter access to the whole or any part of the Content if it reasonably considers such Content is or may be:

• An infringement of someone’s intellectual property rights;
• Obscene, indecent, pornographic or otherwise inappropriate; or
• Defamatory of any person; or
• In breach or encourage conduct that would breach of any applicable law or encourage conduct that would breach.

Changes to these terms of use will be posted online. You are responsible for reviewing the amended terms of use, and your continued use of this website constitutes your agreement to the amended terms of use.
