Shows the approximate location of the Ngati Toa fortified pa "Tawhiri-a-Taka" in the Waiorua Valley, Kapiti Island. Adkin mistakenly identified the pa (on the site of the dwelling and shed) as the approximate site of Te Rauparaha's principal pa. However, Te Rauparaha never occupied any part of the northern end of Kapiti Island.
