Thesis. The ED is a dynamic and challenging environment, this research explored 9 RN experiences of transitioning into ED nursing and the supports available during this time. The dominant themes identified in this research were quality preceptorship, continuing education, and safety in practice. This research has added to the limited knowledge of RN transitioning to ED nursing and will be beneficial to those who support ED RNs.
