Description

This is a titi (skirt) is made from strips of fau (hibiscus) fibre. The strips of fibre hang from a wide waistband made from white and brown-coloured kie (pandanus) leaf woven in a chequered pattern. Significance In 2010, the Te Lauhigano Tokelau group from Porirua, New Zealand gifted this garment and other items to Te Papa.
